Sitting
When a Character is directed to Sit, they will be moved to a different Mark in their present Location that allows for sitting, if available. If there is no sitting Mark available, a Game Engine Error will occur.
When a Character is moved to a Mark of the sitting type, they will automatically change to a Sitting Stance.
Characters rendered as though seated on a medium-low bench, couch, or log.
Their legs should actually be visible all the way to the ground/feet, and may be crossed slightly, or in any casual seated type position (doesn’t have to be the same for each character, and probably better if not.) And although their legs are visible in the render, when used in close up angles, the engine will have the scene cropped just below the knee, or occluded by whatever is in front of them (flames, picnic table top, etc.) The bench itself won’t be part of the overlay render, because it will be part of the background. And the foreground objects also won’t be part of the render, they will be composited on top layer by the engine.
In some wider angle scenes, such as where picnic tables are in the distance, the legs may actually be seen. In scenes with multiple picnic tables, we will only use the table which is oriented as nearly as possible to facing the camera with character seated facing the camera, that way there’s never an issue with having them at an odd angle, but other non-used tables nearby can be at other orientations to give the illusion that they could also be used.
